A southeasterly course from mainland Greece will bring the sailor to the Dodecanese, a
cluster of Islands close by the Turkish coast. the Dodecanese offer something for
everyone- famous foods, sophisticated nightllife, arts and crafts, and always the echoes
of a 2000 years old culture. The most prominent islands in the group:
RHODES. The largest of the Dodecanese Islands. It is an unusual island
contrasting the sophisticated, ultra-modern hotels and casinos with charming little
villages. To add more interest to the already astonishing sites, is the extensive medieval
town, complete with castle and battlements from Crusades.
The famous Colossus, one of the seven Wonders of the Ancient World, stood at the entrance
to the Port of Rhodes. In its absence, there are many other wonders on this island. Within
the castle walls lies the old town,

a maze of narrow lanes, ston mansions, churches, an incredibly intact Knight's
Castle and the Knight's Hospital. The new city is a fine contrast, with its wide streets,
modern hotels and glamorous casinos. And of course shops full of international fare. |

Apart from the town, Lindos, a hospitable white painted village, is another enchanting
spot. The view from the Acropolis of Lindos is breath taking, overlooking red-tiled roofs
and a bright azure sea. International Airport (Charters). Yacht marina and
provisioning facilities.

KOS. The
island famous as the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of medicine. Kos is today a
fertile island surrounded by beautiful beaches, dotted with pretty towns. Within the town
of Kos can be found the Palace of Knights, the Roman Odeum, the Temple of Aphrodite and
the Museum of Kos. These sites can be visited by foot or bicycle. Airport. Several
yacht provisioning facilities.
