PATMOS. Called the Jerusalem of the Aegean, Patmos is an island of ascetic
auterity. Its terrain matches the mood, made of rock and bays. Here, in a cave, St. John
wrote the Apocalypse, one of the most inspirational, forceful texts ever written. The
whole island is dominated by the monastery dedicated to the memory of this saint. Its
flavor is distinctive from most Greek Islands in its quiet solitude.Yacht provisioning

The capital is built amphi- theatrically on a hillside and is crowned by a
Franco-Byzantine fortress. Like Kalymnos, Leros is essentially the home of sponge
fisherman. Airport. Yacht provisioning services.
KALYMNOS. This island of barren rock sparsely strewn with herb and thyme bushes
and green valleys, enjoys an abundance of golden beaches. Its fame is owned to its

alternate with fertile valleys, mountain creeks and vineyards. The island's most beautiful

fishermen, who leave their island each spring for the north coast of Africa amid somber
ceremonies, to return five monthes later greeted by joyous celebrations. The island's
capital is a newly built town which hugs the hillside. The houses are painted white and
blue and from a distance look like some child's drawing. All along the coast are inlets
and bays. Caves are also an interesting attraction, with their stalactites and healing
waterrs. It's an ideal island for the amateur fisherman, with transparent seas favoring
underwater fishing. From Kalymnos it is an easy jaunt to the nearby tiny islands of
Telendos and Pserimos, idyllic spot for fishing and swimming. Yacht provisioning
